I am really sorry. This bug is rare but unbearable! I never managed to find its source because it seems to be caused by fucking random factors. The best I can advise you, if you haven't already done so, is to try the experience again on another web browser. Sorry again, this bug has left me helpless myself since the release of this game. You definitely had the good ending, there is only one. The other is a humorous bonus which requires a very specific action revealed at the very end of the game provided you have a score of 35/35.
You'll find this weird but the scene you're talking about is also a variation of a nightmare I had when I was younger and I also discovered that 2 of my friends had already had the same one. It must be part of the list of common dreams, like flying or failing to run.
The enigma you're telling me about is vicious and afterwards, we wonder how we managed not to see it ^^

This exceeded my expectation for a 'point & click' game. Like, i didn't expect it to be that good one bit. The visual and the atmosphere made me regret it that i played this in the middle of the night T_T - but it's good nonetheless.
Très cool! J'aime beaucoup les visuels et le filtre utilisé, le côté vieux jeu est réussi et je trouve que le jeu se situent bien entre réalisme et graphismes plus stylisés (surtout sur l'éclairage). The number puzzle was a bit tricky because I didn't realize you had to look at the bottom of the letter in the safe in the basement, but otherwise it was relatively clear gameplay!! Love the visuals, and the creepy monster things are a great touch! Loved the (Normal) ending, but I'm too lazy to look for the Secret ending lol. Very fun in all!

Most of the time it's the enigma of stained glass windows that people have trouble finding the first time. I renamed them the riddle of invisible shapes because of this. I really thought this game wasn't going to be that scary, but I had more than a few jumps. I was really scared a few times. I'm definitely replaying this later when its dark it will be way more fun and scary. Loved the game.
You know, over time, I realize that I didn't even really try to be scary with this game. It's true that there are 2 or 3 moments that are a little scary but above all I wanted to make the atmosphere is mysterious and well done enough for players who love the genre to want to get to the end of the story and understand what is happening in this house. From what I could play it was really well done. However, the game kept getting stuck on a black screen after certain events.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD
- The first stuck black screen was after I picked up the key in the bathroom by using the pliers. The screen faded to black like it was loading, but then just stayed black and the music kept playing. I couldn't click anything except exit or fullscreen mode.
-The second time, it was right after I picked up the pliers, the screen faded to black, but instead of loading the basement, it just stayed black and, as before, kept playing the music but I was unable to click anything except exit or fullscreen mode.
Sorry for what happened. This bug is relatively rare and it seems to be caused by a combination of details linked to a problem that I was unable to find in my code combined with the set of certain players (always in the same 2 places, the ones you as cited). I have never been able to determine precisely where the problem was coming from.
The best I can do is invite you to try with another web browser, if you haven't already done so.

Super fun game, we actually streamed it live but kept getting stuck right after the chemical stripper with the monster hand. The game freezes with a black screen while we could still hear the eerie chanting. We restarted the game and tried again but the same thing happened. Any fixes for this? Would love to play to the end!

This kicks ass! As someone who grew up on Nancy Drew and point and click flash games, this brought back some great memories and was super enjoyable to play. It really nails that 'classic point and click horror game' vibe while still feeling fresh and without having any of the annoying parts many of those games had. Really love the graphics too, very pretty looking. I really liked the puzzle with the diary page and the door, very cool! My only complaint is that the loading time between screens can get a little irritating at times, it would be nice if it changed length depending on whether it was a new room or not. I'd love to see more of this! Will probably play it again so I can get a perfect score and get a perfect investigation level(I wonder if that unlocks an alternate ending?) Overall, extremely fun and enjoyable experience.
Hello botflytime :-) I really like long, full posts, like this one. Just for that, thank you ^^. I played a lot of point n click horror flash games 10 years ago. I wanted to do mine with more modern technologies. I wanted a simple plot in the style of classic horror stories and easy gameplay. It was so that the few non-gaming friends for whom the game was originally intended would not get bored after 2 minutes. It was only afterwards that I understood that it could interest more people and that I hired a translator for the English version. But basically, the game was thought of as a little extra for a late Halloween night.
For the transitions between rooms, I coded the game so that the speed adapts to the refresh rate of the player's screen. The speed is related to the power of the machine used by the player. I haven't found a better solution yet. But it must exist.

But that at a price and the game is free. Outside of the Spanish part of South America, nobody or very few people came to ask for a specific translation. I see other countries playing it in English. The scene in the basement with the monster and the stairs reminds me of a weird nightmare I had years ago, I didn't remember until now.
I had too much trouble with the glass part, didn't realize I needed to do the shapes too.
My jaw DROPPED when I saw the (cult?????) and the two heads on the plate, I knew the guy I played was next.

The stained glass windows were actually quite obvious for me, but it took a couple tries to realize the shapes around the symbols were different haha.

I keep getting stuck with a dark screen after I pour acid on the hand. Amazing sound design and atmosphere though, just sad I can't play all of it.

Ça me fait du bien d'avoir le droit à un commentaire en français. Le jeu a surtout fonctionné (toutes proportions gardées) dans les pays anglophones. Du coup, merci avant tout pour ton message, et également de me permettre de retourner un peu vers ma langue natale ^^. C'est mon tout premier jeu, mais j'ai quand même voulu m'appliquer pour compenser la simplicité de l'histoire et du gameplay. Je suis content que ça t'ait plu ! Reviens ici quand bon te semble et prends bien soin de toi :-)

Great game! Good puzzles and pace. Good continuity of the plot. But what really stands out in this game is the quality of graphics and atmosphere - really outstanding and impressive work, especially for one person!

Super fun game, we actually streamed it live but kept getting stuck right after the chemical stripper with the monster hand. The game freezes with a black screen while we could still hear the eerie chanting.
We restarted the game and tried again but the same thing happened. Any fixes for this? Would love to play to the end!

This bug is driving me crazy. I never knew how to fix it and it is rare. Apparently it would be related to the player's set. But since everyone never has the same one, it's complicated to know what's wrong with the set of players to whom it happens. I suggest you try to launch the game on another browser. Bonjour.Enfin un jeu sous titré en français. C'est un des premiers jeux auxquels j'ai joué ici..et dans ma vie (il y a un début a tout et a tout âge) et j'ai adoré. Les graphismes sont superbes,le jeu est intuitif et agréable a jouer (avec certains autres,ça peut parfois être difficile de faire avancer le personnage) et l'histoire est prenante. Bravo!

This kicks ass! As someone who grew up on Nancy Drew and point and click flash games, this brought back some great memories and was super enjoyable to play. It really nails that 'classic point and click horror game' vibe while still feeling fresh and without having any of the annoying parts many of those games had. Really love the graphics too, very pretty looking. I really liked the puzzle with the diary page and the door, very cool! My only complaint is that the loading time between screens can get a little irritating at times, it would be nice if it changed length depending on whether it was a new room or not. I'd love to see more of this! Will probably play it again so I can get a perfect score and get a perfect investigation level(I wonder if that unlocks an alternate ending?) Overall, extremely fun and enjoyable experience.

I played a lot of point n click horror flash games 10 years ago. I wanted to do mine with more modern technologies. I wanted a simple plot in the style of classic horror stories and easy gameplay. It was so that the few non-gaming friends for whom the game was originally intended would not get bored after 2 minutes. It was only afterwards that I understood that it could interest more people and that I hired a translator for the English version. But basically, the game was thought of as a little extra for a late Halloween night.
For the transitions between rooms, I coded the game so that the speed adapts to the refresh rate of the player's screen. The speed is related to the power of the machine used by the player. I haven't found a better solution yet. But it must exist.

Yes, it's true. I completely agree with you.
But that at a price and the game is free. Outside of the Spanish part of South America, nobody or very few people came to ask for a specific translation. I see other countries playing it in English.
If one day, among the requests, a country stands out again more than the others, I would work again with a translator to enrich the game.
I wish that would happen again :-)
